milos picsMilos Nikolic, Program Director

Prior to being named program director, Milos was head varsity coach for Milton High School. A native of Serbia, Milos was a member of the Serbian National Team and has competed at five World Championships. Awarded a full athletic scholarship, he rowed varsity for Boston University during college and is also a member of the Serbian Rowing Federation, Serbian Olympic Committee and the Partizan Rowing Club.

billhameBill Hamel, Head Varsity Coach

During Coach Hamel’s first season at Milton High, the boys’ 4+ captured the Massachusetts Public School State Championship. He was both the boys and girls varsity coach at the Brooks School in North Andover, MA and at the collegiate level coached novice and varsity at SUNY, Albany. His passion for rowing is contagious, just ask the team – they’ll follow him and the  Neponset River tides whether it’s 5 am or 5 pm.

Jessica Burbridge, Varsity Coach

Jessica started rowing a very young age in boats manufactured by Alden, a family-owned business. Jessica participated in rowing programs at CRI and LMC before joining Hingham High School’s first crew in 2006. Her boat, the novice girls four, went on to win the state championship that year. After graduating from college, Jessica became a certified level two US Rowing coach and has coached for the last 9 years at LMC, Hingham High School and Neponset/Milton.

Lucy Plackwik, Novice Coach

After completing her B.A. in psychology at UC Santa Cruz, Lucy graduated from a 900 hour program at The Muscular Therapy Institute in 2007. She joined the Neponset/Milton crew in the spring of 2014 as an assistant to the boys head coach and began coaching the novices boys the following season. She uses her decade of experience as a body worker to teach the sport of rowing with an emphasis on mechanical efficiency, effective body conditioning, body awareness, injury prevention, and self care. Her favorite pastime is cheering for people.

Miranda Callahan, Novice Coach

Miranda began her rowing career with Milton Crew as one of the original team members in 2012. She was the successful Girls Team Captain of Milton Crew in her senior year. Miranda continued to row in college for the University of Massachusetts Lowell Women’s Varsity team. She has competed at regattas like the NEIRA Championships, New England Championship Regatta and Dad Vail Regatta. Miranda began her coaching career with the Neponset Rowing Club Masters as well as Junior Summer Program. She is now coaching the Neponset Rowing Club girl’s novice team.
