Support FOMC Scholarship Fund

Jai Twyman and Jack Haley, newly appointed captains of the boys rowing team for Friends of Milton Cew, rode thier bicycles 145 miles from Concord, NH all the way to Newport, RI. The goal of this ride was to raise money for their team, but not for tangible items. They are raising money for members of their community who are less fortunate. They want everyone has the opportunity to row, specifically for their amazing team. Jack and Jai said, “While crew has been an awesome experience for the both of us, we realize that it is far too expensive for the vast majority of students to enjoy.” This experience is their chance to give back to the team that has given us so much. A scholarship fund is being set up with the money raised by Jai and Jack to help low income families in their community gain access to the sport of rowing.

Spring ’17 MHS Crew season underway

Even though it’s snowing out today, the MHS Crew season for Spring 2017 has begun. Until the docks are in at the landing, Varsity boys and girls teams are practicing on the Charles. Big thanks to the Union Boat Club for their ongoing generosity, as they once again host our boats and rowers for their early spring training.

Novices are working out at the high school, but everyone is itchy to get out on the Neponset! Once again, we’re pleased to be partnering with the Milton Yacht Club at Milton’s public landing and dock.

The season will start with some dual racing – schedule still flexible – and wrap up with NEIRA racing. Stay tuned for full schedule on this site and on the MHS Crew Facebook page. If you haven’t liked the page, please do!

Thank you to our coaches, and all the parents, volunteers and donors who make our programs possible.

Go Milton Crew!
