Obtain an athletics clearance card from Milton High School

Rowers will need an official athletics clearance card from the Athletics Department at Milton High. Information Rowers should bring their clearance card to the first day of practice. Information on registering for Spring athletics can be found on the Milton High athletics web site HERE.

Please review the following important information.

Cancellation of practice
We practice in all weather conditions except active lightning storms or other extreme weather. Because our weather changes rapidly, rowers should assume practice will be held regardless of the weather and dress appropriately, unless they are told by a member of the coaching staff that practice has been cancelled.

Registration limits
Team size may be limited by our equipment and coaching resources, and safety considerations.

The first two weeks of practice in each season will serve as a try-out period. Any participant who is unable to continue in the program due to these restrictions after the try-out period will be refunded.
Evaluation criteria include, among other things, a positive attitude, full participation in workouts, and the ability to pick up the fundamentals of the rowing stroke.

Milton High School Crew Team participation fee
The Neponset Rowing Club fee is $650. Our fees cover only our operating costs including coaches’ salaries, regatta fees, gas for coaches’ launches, and local travel expenses.
Refund Policy
Refunds will be given within the first two weeks due to injury, membership limits, or if a student decides the sport is not for him/her.

All of the equipment in use has been purchased with the funds provided by the Friends of Milton Rowing through fundraising and generous donations. When the equipment (boats, oars, launch, gas, motors, trailer etc.) needs to be repaired or purchased the money comes from the Friends’ account. The continued success and longevity of the FOMC is reliant on our fundraising.
As a 501 (3) © organization, your contribution to Friends of Milton Crew is tax-deductible.

We welcome your ideas and participation!

The Friends of Milton Crew is an all-volunteer organization, and we need your help to make this team a success. Crew only works because of what you do, from organizing fundraisers to ordering uniforms to chaperoning buses to running the food tent on race day, and on and on.

There are so many different ways to help, and it is a fun way to meet other parents and learn more about your rower’s new passion.

Work party participation
Athletes, the success of your team depends on more than just showing up to practice. Your volunteered time and help with the maintenance and care of our equipment, rowing location, and our home course are essential.

We use email extensively for communication. We create lists for parents and rowers for each squad, for all rowers, and for all parents.

These lists will only be used only for crew-related information and will never be sold. Hotmail users (and other email clients) may need to turn off junk mail detection.
