2020 Summer Rowing

Unfortunately, Friends of Milton Crew will not be able to provide summer programs this year. We are closely monitoring information from the State and the CDC, as well as actively working with the local Department of Health to continually re-assess when we will safely be able to offer rowing. Please know that suspending the summer season was a difficult decision for us to make, with many variables to consider. While saddened that we cannot provide our normal programming this summer, we look forward to sharing updates and to hopefully rowing on the Neponset this fall.

Fall Rowing

The Fall Program is sweep rowing in stable 8-person or 4-person shells, for rowers with a variety of experience levels who enjoy a team atmosphere. This program will build on stroke fundamentals and knowledge of rowing to become more confident, efficient rowers. This class will focus on synchronization, timing, drills, and blade work. The coaches will work with all rowers throughout the session to offer drills/workouts and grow rowing knowledge and skills. Rowers will work on gaining a greater understanding of the rowing stroke, experience a multitude of drills, and gain a firm grasp of rowing terminology while getting a workout. Set-up and clean-up is a part of this program, this is a multi-boat class and rowers will be expected to help each other launch and rack boats at the beginning and end of row.
